2.BASKET

1930' from state of Kentucky 218cm x 188cm

Baskets were necessity in daily life, filling many vital roles in the house, as well as barns and fields. People found this motif as a symbol of harvest, and it was one of beloved quilt patterns. This fresh design was constructed with fifty baskets, which consist of four pieced line of layers instead of normal three lines of layers, orderly aligned vertically, horizontally, and diagonally together. Detailed flower embroidery overflows the container and handles were also carefully quilted. Purple fabrics used vegetable dye here. We can't overlook the additional detailed piecing at four corners on the diagonal lines as well.
